Study Abroad

Study abroad can be an enriching and eye-opening experience, where learning extends to the world beyond the classroom walls. There is no substitute for living and studying in a foreign country if you want to gain an in-depth knowledge of another culture’s customs, people and language. There are many different programs available and there is one out there for each and every person interested in experiencing foreign study.

Maricopa Study Abroad Programs are just one of the many options from which you can choose. What’s great about these Maricopa college-sponsored programs is that they are exciting opportunities to study abroad and earn college credit at the same time! Our colleges offer a wide array of programs in countries throughout the world.
Four of the 2006 summer study abroad programs will be led by SCC's very own faculty members.  We dare you to look at the opportunities to study Italian in Rome, Italy, Photography or Interior Design in Paris, France, Intercultural Communication & Comparative Indigenous Arts in Australia & New Zealand, or learn on a Mediterranean study-cruise

Upcoming study abroad informational sessions:
To learn more about the SCC 2006 study abroad programs, attend an informational session.
All sessions are held at Scottsdale Community College.

Paris:  City of Lights  --  Friday, Jan. 27, 2006.  6:00 PM.  Art Building (AB) 132
Austalia / New Zealand  -- Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006.  7:30 PM.  Peridot Room.
Rome, Italy  -- Friday, Feb. 10, 2006.  5:00 PM.  IT1 (portable building).

In addition to the Maricopa programs, there are external study abroad opportunities available, too! They might offer a program that matches your interests as well. Feel free to stop by our office (SC-100) and browse through the additional information and resources that are available. We have lots of brochures advertising programs all over the world!

The following links are intended to help you with the process of selecting and following through with participating in a study abroad program. In addition to these links, the Study Abroad Advisor is available in the International Education Programs Office to assist you and answer questions. If you have a question or concern, please ask!
